El Corte Ingles Partners With Manhattan Associates

MADRID, Spain and ATLANTA, Oct 19, 2011 (Global Logistics Media) -- Global supply chain optimization provider Manhattan Associates today announced that El Corte Ingles, Spain's largest retailer and the world's second largest department store retailer, has selected multiple components from the Manhattan SCOPE(R) supply chain solution portfolio as it embarks on a transformation project to replace its legacy enterprise systems. The Manhattan solutions are set to become a core component of the retailer's supply chain technology platform and will optimize order fulfilment across its multi-channel retail operations.

El Corte Ingles' retail operations include department stores, hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores, fashion boutiques and specialty retail along with a growing online business.

Manhattan and its local Geopartner Supply Nexus, which serves as a true extension to Manhattan's business operations in the Iberian Peninsula, will work alongside El Corte Ingles on the implementation project. The deployment will initially focus on supporting El Corte Ingles' e-commerce operations managed through distribution centers (DCs) in Madrid, before progressing to the company's entire multi-channel retail operation. Long term, the Manhattan solutions will support El Corte Ingles' retail operations in Portugal as well as Spain.
