SDV INVESTS in FAST OVERSEAS (LEBANON) and FAST France.

by Press Release on 2012-01-25

After several years of co-operation, SDV has recently acquired a minority interest in the FAST Overseas group, present in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Italy.

With a turnover of 30 M$ and 90 people, FAST Mondial & Marine, the Lebanese entity of the Group, is the top freight forwarder in Lebanon. The group’s strong reputation is built on over 30 years’ experience, particularly during the difficult periods in the region.

With its subsidiary companies in Jordan and Syria, FAST Overseas significantly increases SDV’s presence in Middle East and confirms the willingness of the Group to invest in the Southern Mediterranean area.

The professionalism and the dynamism of the teams will be an undeniable asset for the SDV network, just as SDV’s global resources and expertise will be a major asset for the future of FAST Overseas.

In conjunction with this, SDV also took a majority stake in the company FAST France.

FAST France, with a turnover of 12 M€ and 25 people, is specialized in outbound flows to Middle East.
FAST France has been cooperated for 25 years with FAST Lebanon (without capital intensive bond) and is involved in significant volumes to the Persian Gulf.
FAST France will continue to be headed by Marc ANAYA.

Finally, SDV has also acquired 100% of FAST Italy (3 M€ turnover and 10 people) which is managed jointly with FAST Overseas and FAST France.

Fast Italy is also specialized in outbound flows to the Middle-East.

The aim of this acquisition is to bring Fast Italy closer to the existing Italian entity, SDV Italy.

Through this strategic move, SDV (currently with more than 525 agencies in 92 countries) reinforces its presence in the Middle-East and continues to strengthen its network to meet the needs of its global customers.
